Source and description

The Cattleya orchid is known for its large, fleshy, multi-coloured flowers. Similar to Odontoglossums, Cattleyas are often crossbred with other orchid species and genuses, such as Lelias, Brassavolas, and Epidendrums. All these genuses are related and originate in South America.
