Source and description
Odontoglossums are often available on the market as cross breeds with other orchid types, such as Miltonias, Oncidiums etc. Such hybrids have different names e.g. Cambria, Wilsonara, Odontioda etc. They are less demanding to grow at home than the natural occuring species, which are found in the tropical rainforests of South America. In the wild, these plants grow in altitudes of 1000 to 3500 metres, which means they cannot sustain summer heat for too long.
