OCEAN CASCADA

...after two years of research and work on the project we are proud to announce the launch of our most prestiguous product to the market: Ocean Cascada!

we have selected the finest big white Phalaenopsis varieties available on the market and developed the technique of growing the flower stem in a cascade manner which originates from Asia. We use only the best plants of these selected varieteis to create this product where it is easy to guarantee at least 15 flowers on a bended flower spike. We consider this number as a standard but new results from production show that on average we are able to produce 17 to 18 flowers in this way. we sell the plants with 60 to 70% open flowers and the rest in buds. This is necceseary to be able to show the elegant line of flowers that are opened in succesion close to each other.

To be able to market this product it was needed to tackle the problem of transportation. The 'Ocean Cascada' box was created especially for this and solves the transport problem completely. The graphic design of the box complements the beauty of the plant thus creating a nice package and a wonderful gift.

The new orchid production facility was opened at a grand opening by President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Danilo Türk. Orchids are now grown in a 30,000 m² greenhouse, which is the only greenhouse of this size found in South-Eastern Europe.

The greenhouse, which will yield 1,200,000 orchids per year, is heated by means of geothermal energy.

President took a tour around the new part of extended greenhouse accompanied by wife Barbara Miklič Türk as well as his delegates. Besides orchids, visitors to the Tropical garden can, from 12 November 2007 on, admire a wide range of tropical and economic tropical plants. You can see a vanilla orchid as well as cotton, coffee, pepper, papaya, avocado and a number of other plants. Visitors can also admire a wide group of flamingo trees (Anthuriums) and climbing plants. The Ocean Orchids Tropical garden is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm. There is a circular path leading through the garden, which enables visitors to see all plants from a close up. You can also take a seat in the garden, rest your senses and enjoy the beautiful world of tropical nature. Let the nature embrace you.
